Damaged pipes can cause major water damage in different parts of your home. Aside from this issue is the challenge of repairing them without major disruptions. These situations also need a faster turnaround. Trenchless pipe lining in Richmond, VA, achieves all. Some jobs, though, also need excavation methods for a complete, effective, and long-term result.

Combining Trenchless And Excavation Repair Methods

Sometimes, for the best long-term solutions, it’s necessary to combine trenchless and excavation repairs. Using both methods provides a more effective and comprehensive result.

This was the best approach for one of our residential clients who called us back in 2014. Water damage had seeped into the client’s basement living/entertainment room. It was due to a damaged drain line that has gotten worse, prompting more than regular CIPP pipe lining.

A video pipe inspection confirmed extensive damage with a point of separation in the drain line. To do a proper repair, we used a 3-inch sewer pipe lining flex liner. This was necessary because the pipe went from four inches to three inches in diameter about one foot into the drain line. We proceeded to line the drain pipe without any issues.

However, the rest of the drain line was already completely rusted. We wanted to do a more comprehensive and satisfactory job that solves the whole pipe issue. We needed to do some minor excavation outside, under the sidewalk. We removed the other end of the drain pipe and replaced it.

Digging out the other end of the drain line to insert a new pipe provided a new, complete stretch of drain line. This guaranteed a comprehensive solution. It also made sure the result would last at least 50 years.

Although the scope of the project expanded further, we didn’t charge the client extra. Our intent was to provide a complete long-term solution. We had a contractor take care of the water damage, and also repainted the basement.

USA Pipe Repair makes sure we do a complete job, even if it means combining both disciplines. This has made us the most reliable pipe lining companies since 2001. Call us today.
